CHARACTER
Series: Yu-Gi-Oh
Canon: Early Series (Pre-Duelist Kingdom)
Name: Muto Yuugi (AU)
Age: 15
Gender: Female
History: Several thousand years ago, in Ancient Egypt, Yuugi was born. Her parents were killed before she could develop any real memories of them, because of this, she was taken by slave traders. Having known no other life than that of a slave girl, Yuugi was a very shy and timid girl. One day, in hopes of getting some more money, the slave traders who owned Yuugi took her and several others to the palace, hoping to sell them to the royal family for a nice profit. However, he didn't expect for Yuugi to try to run away.
Before arriving at the Palace, Yuugi managed to sneak away from the slave caravan and run away, despite the chains that bound her hands and the collar around her neck. Not knowing where to go, she just ran. Eventually she found herself within one of the smaller Palace gardens, where she was captured by the palace guard. She was brought before the Pharaoh and his daughter, the Princess Atemi, where she pleaded for her life. Atemi, concerned about the young girl, asked her father to allow her to keep the girl as a servant. The Pharaoh allowed this and had the chains removed from Yuugi's wrists and the collar from around her throat.
It took her several months to get used to the routine of the palace, but she eventually got used to things. Through out the time that Yuugi served Atemi, the two of them became very close friends. When Atemi started learning magic from the High Priests and Priestesses, Yuugi stated to learn how to fight from the palace guards. She wanted to be able to protect the one who had saved her life.
She learned both armed and unarmed combat. She quickly became skilled in the use of a dagger, preferring to use that rather than a sword. A dagger was also easier for her to hide in her clothes. Several times, she used her innocent looks to make her opponents underestimate her, allowing her to take the upper hand in most of her fights. After several years of trainig, Yuugi became skilled enough with a dagger that the Captain of the Guard thought that she was ready to become a part of the Princess's personal guard. Yuugi accepted this duty and made a vow to protect her Princess with her life.
After Atemi's father died, Atemi had no other choice but to take the throne and the title of Pharaoh. She offered Yuugi the position as Captain of the Guard, but she refused, beliveing that the old Captain was far better than she could ever be. She did continue to be Atemi's servant, bodyguard, best friend, and lover. In order to serve Atemi better, Yuugi pleaded with her to bind her soul to the Millennium Puzzle that hung around her neck. Atemi refused to do so at first, but after months of pleading from Yuugi, Atemi preformed the spell, forever binding Yuugi to the herself and the Puzzle.
Things changed for the two of them when an intruder entered the palace one night, killing several guards. He introduced himself as the Thief King Bakura and he had come for the Millennium Items that the High Priests, Priestesses and the Pharaoh had. Yuugi wouldn't allow Atemi to fight Bakura and instead took him on herself. The two faught fairly evenly, that was, until Bakura drew a second knife. Yuugi was unable to best Bakura and was mortally wounded. She was pulled away by several palace guards and brought to Atemi. As she lay dying in her Pharaoh's arms, Yuugi apologized for being unable to protect her better. With her dying breath she muttered three words "I love you".
Enraged at the death of her best friend and lover, Atemi picked up Yuugi's dagger and against the will of the rest of the guards, engaged Bakura in a fight to the death. Weaked by his fight with Yuugi, Atemi was able to best the thief and kill him, avenging Yuugi's death. She didn't walk away unscathed though. She had also been mortally wounded. With her dying breath, Atemi wished that she would be reincarnated with her guardian and lover.
Several thousand years later, Mouto Yuugi was born in Domino City, Japan. She was a rather timid girl, that was, until she ran into a girl in the park one after noon. They weren't able to talk, since Yuugi had to go home. Later that night, she had a dream about the girl she had ran into. What she didn't know was that the dream was actually a memory from her past life. Eventually she meet this girl again, and found out that her name was Atemi. The two of them became good friends. Yuugi became very protective of Atemi and after several years of friendship and strange dreams, both Atemi and Yuugi realized just what they were to each other.
Reunited again, Yuugi will do whatever she can to make sure that Atemi stays safe. Neither one of them ever found out what happened to the sprit of the Thief King Bakura, but they are always on the lookout for someone with the name of Bakura. When the two of them entered high school, a new transfer student arrived. His name was Bakura; however, he didn't seem like the homicidal theif that they knew from their past lives, but they never let their guard down. It is shortly after this that Yuugi wakes up in Nihil.
Personality: Yuugi is usually very shy and timid, prefering to keep to herself and the few friends that she does have. She prefers to look at the lighter side of things and usually always has a smile on her face. Her personalty changes however, when she feels that Atemi is in danger. Her personality nearly does a complete 180, turning the shy, timid, girl into a fighter who won't back down in a fight. She doesn't care what happens to herself, as long as her Pharaoh is safe. She will also do what she can to protect the few friends that she does have.
